The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the digital interconnection of everyday objects with the Internet.

It consists of enriching different devices with integrated computing and connecting them using standard technologies. This allows different devices to communicate and interact, both with each other and with more centralized controllers. 

Internet of Things is an essential engine for innovation, it is consumer-oriented, data-driven business opportunities, industry transformation, new applications and even new business models and revenue streams in all sectors of the digital transformation economy.

The concept of IoT , depending on its area of ​​application, can take different names. If applied to the city, it is called Smart Cities . If applied to industry, it is called Industrial IoT (IIoT) , and in the case of vehicles it is called connected vehicle .
